USB Web Cams

USB Webcams require isochronous USB to function. Unfortunately at this stage Sun Ray Server Software does not support isochronous USB. This creates a problem for those users wanting to use Ekiga and the like for video conferencing.

The current work around for this is to use Internet cameras.

Internet Cameras

Though not quite as simple as using a client tool such as Ekiga providing an Internet Camera allows for virtually the same functionality (or increased functionality with the higher end models e.g. room panning).

D-Link provides a variety of Internet cameras like the DCS-900 for less than USD100.
