SRSS on OpenSolaris Nevada Builds
OpenSolaris Nevada builds (a.k.a. Solaris Express Community Edition) are not a supported platform for SRSS, but, as it is designed to be backward-compatible with Solaris 10, things generally work, albeit with a few glitches.
Known Issues
- Older Nevada builds have problems with the dtlogin service using -udpPort 0 option (part of Secure-by-Default/"netservices limited"). See this blog entry.
- The old Xsun X server is no longer included starting in build 118. Use SRSS 4.1 or later, which provides its own X server (Xnewt).
- There is a Solaris sockets bug in builds 106 to at least 117, similar to Bug 6799655. Use the same workaround as that bug.
